03.29.16 09:52 PM In 2004, Mill Ridge consolidated and amended its Rules and Restrictions to comply with the Planned Community Act, legislation that codifies how communities like Mill Ridge preserve the value of member properties and operate amenities and community infrastructure. A new assortment of adjustments was needed recently and over the last year the Mill Ridge Board has worked with our lawyer John Turner to again update our bylaws and the Rules and Restrictions. The bylaws have been updated but there is a long list of amendments to the Rules and Restrictions that require member involvement to be finalized. Rather than itemize the changes here, each member recently received a mailing that details the proposed changes. To finish the process, a special members meeting will be held on March 19that 1 p.m. for the Board to discuss and present the Rules and Restrictions to Mill Ridge members. All members have already received a copy of the Rules and Restrictions to review before the meeting. After the meeting, a voting card and self-addressed envelope will be sent to all members in good standing (i.e., those current on their dues). To adopt the amended Rules and Restrictions and be in compliance with the Planned Community Act we need the approval of 67% of POA members. We hope to have completed the voting process and achieved the required approval before the end of the summer, so it’s very important for everyone to vote and return their cards to the office.
